Fruit Compote is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is appreciated by millions every day. It’s easy, it is quick, it tastes yummy. Fruit Compote is something that I have loved my entire life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

A colorful fruit compote brings a casual or holiday meal to a delicious close whether it is enjoyed by itself or in combination with other desserts. In the culinary arts, a compote refers to fresh, canned or dried fruit that has been stewed in a syrup of sugar and other flavorings. The fruit in a compote is cut into chunks. Fruit compote is basically fruit cooked with some form of sugar (such as granulated or honey) which produces a syrupy fruit mixture ('mixture' in French is ' compȏte ').

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook fruit compote using 3 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Fruit Compote:
  1. Prepare 1 cup fruit diced
  2. Get 1 tbsp sugar
  3. Take 2 tbsp boiling water

I'm sure you'll get as many smiles as I do when I bring out this refreshing salad at a potluck. Compote is a simple fruit sauce made with pieces of fresh (or frozen) fruit and some sugar, cooked briefly on the stove. You could call the end result a textured fruit sauce or chunky fruit syrup. Instead of sugar, I use a small amount of maple syrup or honey to make naturally sweetened compote.

Instructions to make Fruit Compote:
  1. Put all ingredients into a small pan and simmer on a medium heat until soft
  2. Ideal fruits to use are berries, apples, pears, peaches, rhubarb etc
  3. Use on icecream, natural yoghurt, sundaes, cheesecake etc
  4. Make sure it is left to cool for at least 10 mins. And no dipping fingers in to taste as it is extremely hot!!

You could call the end result a textured fruit sauce or chunky fruit syrup. Instead of sugar, I use a small amount of maple syrup or honey to make naturally sweetened compote. An excellent brunch dish or side for waffles, pancakes, scones, or shortbread. Also great served warm over vanilla ice cream! For best results, use canned fruits that do not have corn syrup or other sweeteners added.
